I value honesty…

I believe honesty should be free of brutality, shame, and ego. Honesty is best when it’s in service to the person or institution receiving it. This honesty should move both ways. I aim to provide honesty with clarity, empathy, and compassion. My work seeks to leave audiences with clarity about a show’s subject matter. No more. No less.

I value commercial work…

My work is a bridge between traditional work and broader performance. I’m attracted to work that has mass appeal. The broader the audience, the bigger the conversation, the better chances to see positive changes in our world.

I value failure…

We tend to feel systems rather than see them. We only see a system, its parts, and its interconnections if it’s broken. I believe inserting selective failure in a work helps us see the systems we feel. I want audiences leaving one of my productions with a glimpse of the system explored and inspired to create or contribute to better systems.
